The Office of Faculty Development, housed within the Office of the Provost at the New School, aims to expand support provided to full- and part-time faculty and graduate student teachers. The Office of Faculty Development seeks a new part-time, benefits eligible Coordinator to bolster this support. Reporting to the Assistant Provost for Faculty Development, this position will assist with ongoing and new initiatives, working actively to promote dissemination of resources and participation in workshops, programs and activities. The position responsibilities include onboarding new faculty, developing, writing and preparing a monthly newsletter, and keeping the Faculty Development website updated and relevant. The position will also facilitate the creation and circulation of a variety of educational modules, such as podcasts and online training. The position will research other centers of teaching and learning and offices of faculty development to ensure implementation of best practices in providing faculty support in the areas of teaching and learning; research and creative practice; and leadership development.

Primary responsibilities:
Design, create and publish an electronic newsletter that promotes faculty achievements and draws attention to issues of importance to faculty;
Support creation and maintenance of online pedagogy modules;
Support creation and promotion of podcasts on a variety of issues related to teaching, learning and student support;
Support creation of a variety of resources on teaching and learning; research and creative practice; and leadership development;
Research and write periodic faculty development blog posts;
Promote faculty development workshops via social media and other outlets;
Promote funding opportunities including internal funds such as the Innovations in Education Fund and Mentoring grants;
Review, maintain and further expand Faculty Development website;
Research best practices in all areas of faculty development;
Support the Assistant Provost for faculty development with other tasks related to faculty development.
