Pentair currently has an opening for a Material Buyer Analyst to join our team at our St. Paul, MN location. In this role, the Material Buyer Analyst will coordinate the material flow of assigned parts from demand to point of use by employing modern flow techniques that will yield 100% on time performance at the lowest total cost. This coordination will support Materials Management goals for DIOH while maintaining adequate inventory to satisfy customer demand.

Create, review and release orders in a timely manner and perform transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
Expedite deliveries as required to meet customer demands. Identify problem areas that impact delivery and quality performance, and initiate corrective actions.
Notify and work with appropriate personnel when problems arise concerning inventory, documentation, invoice discrepancies, delivery or quality performance. Solicit feedback, initiate corrective action and coordinate resolution of issues. Keep operations and management informed of critical situations.
Establish, monitor and maintain accurate system record and planning data for assigned items.
Plan all parts individually to meet the business needs. Develop, implement and coordinate planning with shop operations to include such things as:Container and part count sizingReplenishment methods for supporting pull systemsMinimize human involvement in the replenishment processes
Ensure prompt resolution of SPAS/SCARS to minimize impact to the production schedule.
Coordinate the implementation of engineering change activities, which affect assigned items.
Review item forecast versus actual demand patterns. Make appropriate adjustments to maintain inventory levels. Identify excess and obsolete inventory, determine root cause and disposition and take corrective action.
Maintain mutually beneficial long-term relationships with assigned suppliers in an effort to foster continuous improvement and feedback. This includes following the Pentair Code of Business Conduct.
Process all order changes, holds and cancellations. Advise appropriate personnel of cancellation costs identified.
Develop and maintain working knowledge of assigned Pentair products and processes to complete all assigned responsibilities in a satisfactory manner. Comply with and support company policies and procedures and Pentair Quality systems.
Develop, maintain and distribute measurement reports as required.
Participate actively as a team member through continuous improvement and Lean activities.
Perform other responsibilities / duties as apparent or assigned.
Have earned a Bachelor of Science / Bachelor of Art Degree in business, engineering, materials management or comparable experience.
Have 1-2years experience in a buying function, thorough understanding of supply chain management.
Have experience at operating computers and familiarity with Microsoft applications and business systems.
Understand replenishment systems and Lean Manufacturing strategies.
Be skilled in analytical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and problem solving to identify and support improvement efforts.
Be skilled in communicating effectively through oral and written communications.
Be able to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance, balance working with multiple tasks and be able to deal well with frequent interruptions.

Experience with JD Edwards, SAP, and/or other ERP Systems
APICS certification preferred
