Our client is a global pharmaceutical company.They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Global Head of Oncology Clinical Operations
Major tasks and responsibilities will include: Drives all clinical operational aspects of clinical trials within Clinical Oncology; ensures strategic resource management, maximum operational productivity, scientific quality, regulatory and GCP compliance. Manages a global department with approximately 100 associates and external vendors for monitoring clinical activities.Interaction with all key line functions for clinical trial management, including Oncology Global Development. Ensures that all approved Company Oncology clinical studies are adequately resourced and deliver results of excellent scientific quality and in regulatory compliance within agreed upon timelines and budget. Fosters strong external clinical collaborations to introduce new clinical research technologies into the organization and to identify suitable clinical sites and countries for the contact of specific studies; and looks for new opportunities for collaborations in clinical trials. Ensures seamless collaboration between Clinical Oncology and Oncology Global Development; ensures global project teams and all other Company departments and full development line functions (including Country Pharma Organization) in transitioning candidates from research into full development. Contributes senior level expertise to the scientific, strategic and operational aspects of drug development via strong review representation. Builds a highly productive organization that balances operational efficiency and delivery with scientific insight and innovation. Manages the internal Clinical Oncology budget and external budget for clinical studies in excess of $50M; and, as part of the local Clinical Oncology management team, is involved with aspects e.g. BCP, HSE, ARIBA, budget review, local HR issues. Continues to analyze and expand the Clinical Operations group to fulfil changing requirements in clinical research and type of clinical trials and also development of new roles and functions to deliver on the current workload. Continues to review clinical trial operations process to identify efficiencies and promote innovative solutions and implementation of change. Represent Clinical Oncology from a clinical operations perspective on a variety of teams, initiatives and boards, including president s technology initiative projects, as required.Also acts as an internal advisor to identify delegates for Clinical Oncology clinical trial processes. Handles company involvement with all internal and external audits to reduce or eliminate company liability and ensure compliance with all current regulations.
We seek candidates with the following qualifications: Must have a PhD, MSc. or equivalent degree. Must be fluent in both oral and written English. Must have a strong knowledge of the clinical and scientific environment. Requires a proven record in leadership and ability to build organizations. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with successful presentation skills. Requires excellent team work in a multidisciplinary environment. Must be recognized for combining operational and scientific excellence in drug development.
